The Oyu Tolgoi underground mine is located in Khanbogd soum, Umnugovi province, Mongolia. It lies 1,300 meters below the surface and consists of a tunnel system approximately 200 kilometers long, with an average cross-sectional size of 6 by 6 meters.
The purpose of the projects is to provide housing to miners and Tsogttsetsii residents. The Tsetsii complex has been designed to cope with the extreme Gobi climate, with weather resistant glass walkways directly connecting the familyfriendly complex to retail outlets. So far, all of the 556 fully-furnished units have been completed. Around 40 local companies worked on the complex.
